Searching Tips

1. To search Google in a different country, use google.co. (or .com) +country code top level domain (ccTLD). This will give you access to different articles. Here is a listing of country code top level domains. Sometimes there are exceptions to the formatting so you may need to search first to see how to format getting on to Google for that particular country (see Armenia example below as an example of that).

Example: google.co.za (Google South Africa)

Example: google.am (Google Armenia)

Example:google.com.tr (Google Turkey)

2. Also, remember that speaking another language gives you a super power and you can read articles in any languages you understand (or can use Google Translate to translate them).

3. If you want to search government-sponsored sites for a specific country, use your search words - for example, "climate change" and then a space and then type this: site:gov.cn (this is China- or you could use the ccTLD for whatever country's government you are searching).

Example: "climate change" site:gov.cn
