DP Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): Home

Use this guide as you journey through the Creativity, Action, and Service experiences and projects. Material adapted from the CAS support materials developed by Stella Tsali are used with written permission from the author.

CAS strands

Creativity- exploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance

examples: painting leopards prints around school, performing at Coffee House

Activity- physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle

examples: learning to meditate or do yoga, playing soccer for the AISL team

Service- collaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need

examples: teaching swim lessons during CSD, volunteering at a local hospital

CAS Requirements

1+ = the total number of CAS projects required

3 = the number of CAS strands: Creativity, Activity, and Service

3 = the number of formal interviews required with the CAS Coordinator

10+  = the total number of CAS experiences

15+  = the number of reflections required

18  = the number of months students engage in CAS

150  = the approximate number of hours to engage in CAS experiences  (spread across Creativity, Activity, and Service)
